Today we spent the day removing a Willow and pruning a Hawthorn for our customer. The Willow was removed because it had a large amount of decay in the base and on the stems. The worry was that as the decay progressed over Winter the added weight come spring from leaf flush could cause one or more of the limbs to fail. The Hawthorn had been pollarded in the past. The customer wasn't happy with the tree being pollarded so we decided on an all round reduction. The tree was reduced by about a third.
